On November 17, Cleveland AAYAT partnered with the Asian American Alliance from Case Western Reserve University to host the 4th Annual Smoke-Free Karaoke Sing-Off at Bo Loong Chinese Restaurant in Cleveland. This year the theme was “Thank You for Being Smoke Free” to celebrate recent legislation in Ohio making all bars and restaurants non-smoking. Anthony, the owner of Bo Loongs, has been a long time supporter of Cleveland AAYAT and the smoke-free message that the group communicates in the surrounding Asian communities of Cleveland. Nearly 75 youth and seniors attended the event sampling Chinese fare provided by Bo Loong and participating in Karaoke challenges. Cleveland AAYAT youth presented information on secondhand smoke, the harmful chemicals found in tobacco, and the DEBUNKIFY Myth or Fact Tobacco game. Cleveland AAYAT would like to thank Anthony and his wife from Bo Loongs, and the philanthropy committee from Asian American Alliance for their help and support in planning the event. Bo Loong Chinese Restaurant is located at 3922 Saint Clair Ave NE in Cleveland. Reviews can be found here.
