AAYAT Tobacco Surveilence
AAPI’s currently only make about 2-3% of the total population in Ohio, but not unlike many other minority populations smoking rates nationally are often high among many Asian ethnic groups including Koreans, Vietnamese, Lao, and Cambodians. During 2004 and 2005, AAYAT conducted statewide surveys with AAPI youth and adults to gather more information about tobacco usage, attitudes and behaviors. The final survey reports, written by Ron Katsayama, Ph.D. from the University of Dayton, are available below. For questions or further information about the reports, please contact the Statewide Project Director.
